Our developer donor indebted mayor and “unelected” city clerk, new CEO and in-Epp OCP Planning Director have had more than enough time since July 23rd’s last meeting to over agenda-size and proceed to ramrod their hyper-density agenda through tonight’s expected (yawn) city council 4 1/2 to 5 hour meeting.  And don’t expect the 3 remaining city council meetings to show any less mercy when it comes to pushing through the mayor’s Manhattan CityShaping final and Last Testament…. all aboard.

Wannabe Mayor Linda Buchanan Doesn’t Want Our City To Take One Giant Leap Backwards When It Comes To DENSITY!


If you think we have not had ENOUGH DENSITY, CONSTRUCTION, LANE CLOSURES, NOISE POLLUTION or LIMITED STREET PARKING… then on October 20 vote for density proud Linda Buchanan.  This drama queen wants you to believe the sudden unprecedented upheaval of every neighbourhood she helped deconstruct over the last 4 years, is now the NEW NORMAL for our city.  Advocating we should never turn back the hand of density.  #DensityProudBuchanan  #handofdensity

Our gentrified unaffordability is chasing away too many young families, seniors, artists and low income residents from our shores, choosing instead to live in sustainable greener communities.  Promoting a couple coach houses, offering 10/10/10 or 10/20/perpetuity rentals will entice families to stay in our city is ludicrous, naive, having missed the boat!

With less and less low income earners/families consuming & feeding our city’s economy while continuing to build MORE costly high rises and market value rentals is a recipe for “socio-economic genocide.”

Guy Heywood is running for city mayor believing he has a chance since our NDP Gov has drastically limited developer, union and private interest groups ability to manipulate local city councils.  No argument there but… thanks to our previous Liberal Government allowing developers and the like to throw endless amounts of buying power into city elections have left in their wake – city’s like North Van helplessly choking in du jour infused density gridlock.  #NorthShoreSOL

During the last 4 years alone under Mussatto’s 4 to 3 empowered CityShaping Team Slate rule our city has been under siege by an unprecedented unaffordable OCP bonus gentrified density jungle with no chance of full recovery – ever.  What our existing City Council has fornicated along with the mayor’s compliant city planners will be profusely felt well into the next decade!  #CityHallDespicables  

And now we have first out of the North Van “TeamSlateGate” is Guy Heywood and his precarious NVCAA five maybe more: “like minded independent Bolshie candidates.”  Which of course is nothing more than a surreptitious oxymoron for “Team Slate by Association.”  I, like so many other city residents WON’T BE FOOLED AGAIN.  Enough Team Slate intervention into our city politics under any given pseudo coalition.

In a wishful thinking world we could find a developer willing to build a “Driftwood Village Cohousing like Project” right next door to Buchanan’s home and instead of a little housing development next door to Mussatto’s home we could build a 25 storey 10/10/10 mixed condo/rental building and see how he (she) would like having construction chaos & noise pollution right next door for two to three years followed by years and years of neighbourly traffic congestion.  Something neither one would ever allow in their “urban tempered community’s.”  #MussattoBuchananHypocrisy

The good news if my coffee shop poll numbers are any kind of a pre-election indicator, we only have to put up with these shameless city councillors: Buchanan, Back, Clark and Bell? – is up to and only till the end of October.   Running on a :”we need more density platform” is a self-defeating, death defying act in asinine retentiveness.  #Vote4ChangeOct20

UNPRECEDENTED DENSITY FOREVER POSSIBLE IN UPPER LONSDALE


My morning CoffeeBrew crowd have ordained Councillors Back, Clark, Bell & Bookham as the “Four Horsemen of the Harry Jerome Apocalypse.”  The density flood gates are forever open thanks to these four despicables.  And developers will make damn sure Darwin’s “city council” approved 30 tower is the new density bar, aka height standard for all new projects north of 17th Avenue.  #CollusionGluttonyHypocrisySabotage

Well at least those of us north of seventeenth like me know who not to vote for on October 20th.  It is also a good reason why we should also release (if we only could) our city administrators i.e. OCP City Planners and Engineers who have embraced the new towering heights demagoguery north of 17th and every other high rise project throughout our city since 2014.  Anti NIMBY’s who have made a complete mockery out of our OCP and on the record City Planning Dir. Mr. Epp repudiating Regional Growth Strategy Levels now sitting somewhere beyond 2041 population growth levels.  #CityHallCorruption

And lest we forget and never ever should we let wannabe night-mayor Buchanan off the hook.  EVERYWHERE you turn you are sooner than later faced with a “Buchanan” detour, a lane closure, a construction site delay or left frustrated trying to find street parking in and around every damn construction site.  Especially right now on Keith Rd. east and on 3rd Street between Queensbury and St. Andrews – what a bottlenecking nightmare they are during 3 to 6 pm rush hour!

EVERYONE of these developments, including the new Hollyburn apartment project which is of course thanks to our developer compliant city hall is permitted to shut down the curb lane at the intersection of Lonsdale and 13th for the next couple of years at their leisure.  You can emphatically BLAME BUCHANAN and her fellow Mussatto Team Slate that includes non city resident Holly Back.  Despicables who IGNORED EVERY Hollyburn neighbourhood petition, Public Hearing and emails against this colluding project… More city resident voters you can “count on” not willing to elect any Mussatto Team Slate collusion member running in our October 20 civic election.  #Enough2014CityCouncil
