Surfing through memory lane, looking at my over 500+ blogs related to our city council…


With city council away on an undeserving 8 week summer break after having had the bare minimum city council meetings since January.  I realized it won’t be long before my prized caricatures of our seven city council despicables will be only but a memory echoing my talents.

Surfing my 500+ blogs I noticed about 98.6% of my blog themes revolved around our new city council’s “4 to 3” empowered Mussatto rule trumpeting density fornication.  I eventually came across my 2014 pre-election ol west themed poster: “Wanted Out of Office These Bandits.”  Ironically this poster featured now running for mayor and leftover from 2009 city council OMG Guy Heywood… nothing has changed as it is still my belief we need a new untainted city council and mayor – enough is enough!

This poster would later become the foundation for my first Jan. 9 2015 blog.  As you can see my foresight unfortunately was right on the money illustrating what to expect from our inept mayor and his empowered Team Slate.  Hijackers whom over the last four years have willingly and relentlessly bent over backwards (kiss, kiss) appeasing their campaign developers.  City politics no longer transparent – not an option under Mussatto’s developer sellout leadership conveniently held behind closed doors.  And there lies your failing legacy mayor, forever and ever amen.

Re: Anthem’s new 225-unit faulty rental tower… are you ready, night-mayor-ish Linda Buchanan hails: “noise is a reality of living in an urban community” – BULLSHIT Buchanan!  Noise brought on by YOUR DAMN DONOR DEVELOPERS coercing our communities into massive construction zones!.  Distressing sounds caused by your unconscionable inability to rationalize when the sustainability and wellness of its city is at a point of no return and still all you and the rest of your fornicating city council in an unanimous decision want is to further pollute our city with more damn UNAFFORDABLE RENTAL DENSITY!   #BuchananCrapola

In a wishful thinking world we could find a developer willing to build a “Driftwood Village Cohousing like Project” right next door to Buchanan’s home and instead of a little housing development next door to Mussatto’s home we could build a 25 storey 10/10/10 mixed condo/rental building and see how he (she) would like having construction chaos & noise pollution right next door for two to three years followed by years and years of neighbourly traffic congestion.  Something neither one would ever allow in their “urban tempered community’s.”  #MussattoBuchananHypocrisy

The good news if my coffee shop poll numbers are any kind of a pre-election indicator, we only have to put up with these shameless city councillors: Buchanan, Back, Clark and Bell? – is up to and only till the end of October.   Running on a :”we need more density platform” is a self-defeating, death defying act in asinine retentiveness.  #Vote4ChangeOct20

North Van City Millennial Housing Dreams Being Shattered By Our City’s Unaffordable Housing!


When it comes to housing affordability on the North Shore much like in Vancouver City; it is becoming more and more unattainable for our seniors/pensioners, fixed and low income earners and yes our Millennials and generations thereafter.  The reality and future economic and social wellness of our city is in dire straits with not only small business leaving or considering to leave but so are our Millennials having had enough!  Unwilling to pay soaring rents with no return on their investment with up to 4% rental hikes each and every year thereafter…  #time4millennialsMoveOn

It’s becoming more and more apparent why our North Shore culpable density mayors: Mussatto & Walton are unwilling to run for re-election in cities they have fornicated beyond recovery… and thus tarnishing their vainglorious legacies.  What they don’t realize is their legacies have already been condemned for ever and ever amen.

UNPRECEDENTED DENSITY FOREVER POSSIBLE IN UPPER LONSDALE


My morning CoffeeBrew crowd have ordained Councillors Back, Clark, Bell & Bookham as the “Four Horsemen of the Harry Jerome Apocalypse.”  The density flood gates are forever open thanks to these four despicables.  And developers will make damn sure Darwin’s “city council” approved 30 tower is the new density bar, aka height standard for all new projects north of 17th Avenue.  #CollusionGluttonyHypocrisySabotage

Well at least those of us north of seventeenth like me know who not to vote for on October 20th.  It is also a good reason why we should also release (if we only could) our city administrators i.e. OCP City Planners and Engineers who have embraced the new towering heights demagoguery north of 17th and every other high rise project throughout our city since 2014.  Anti NIMBY’s who have made a complete mockery out of our OCP and on the record City Planning Dir. Mr. Epp repudiating Regional Growth Strategy Levels now sitting somewhere beyond 2041 population growth levels.  #CityHallCorruption

And lest we forget and never ever should we let wannabe night-mayor Buchanan off the hook.  EVERYWHERE you turn you are sooner than later faced with a “Buchanan” detour, a lane closure, a construction site delay or left frustrated trying to find street parking in and around every damn construction site.  Especially right now on Keith Rd. east and on 3rd Street between Queensbury and St. Andrews – what a bottlenecking nightmare they are during 3 to 6 pm rush hour!

EVERYONE of these developments, including the new Hollyburn apartment project which is of course thanks to our developer compliant city hall is permitted to shut down the curb lane at the intersection of Lonsdale and 13th for the next couple of years at their leisure.  You can emphatically BLAME BUCHANAN and her fellow Mussatto Team Slate that includes non city resident Holly Back.  Despicables who IGNORED EVERY Hollyburn neighbourhood petition, Public Hearing and emails against this colluding project… More city resident voters you can “count on” not willing to elect any Mussatto Team Slate collusion member running in our October 20 civic election.  #Enough2014CityCouncil

Welcome to North Van City 2019…


Welcome to our mayor’s 2019 City Wake… a city he would not dare have on his resume after October 20th.  As some are beginning to whisper a chickenshit unwilling to face the completion of his CityShaping Manhattan Project i.e. realizing this could only further damage his contemptible & vainglorious mayoral-ship legacy.  A once unassuming city his infamy will definitively record he mayor-ily gentrified on behalf of his vulturous towering donors and spending over $22M on a Black Necklace for the sake of a few measly cyclists willing to bike to work.  A legacy wannabe mayor Buchanan is ready & eager to WTH further advance in his image. And before you start pointing fingers only at our four horse trading city councillors: Clark, Bell, Bookham & non city resident Back favouring and coercing a new Harry Jerome Titanic SportsPlex…  Do not lose sight in what SPAWNED this $237 million sink hole.  The mayor’s 2014 re-election double dipping donor Darwin Construction in consort behind closed doors with our mayor’s compliant city planners & engineers.  A project that had to have been in the works for quite some time don’t you think.  After all mayor Mussatto never seemed in any hurry or ever sounded like he wanted to update or renovate our existing Harry Jerome Community Recreational Centre…  coincidence – you decide.

Further:  The sky may not be falling but our city is untenantable far too many.  Just how negative the impact of even a minor housing collapse will have on our city’s sustainability is already blurred by overhead spawning hazy skies.  #cnvSOL

Build it and taxpayers will pickup Harry Jerome’s future cost overruns… or will many longtime residents forsake the North Shore having had enough!


Last Monday Night’s jammed packed fight card featured many bouts with all OCP amendments, rezoning bylaws and new projects being the big winners.  And now for the next 8 weeks we all get a break from city council’s love affair with en masse developments.  Though we will have to all still put up with the never ending noise pollution from gravel and ready mix cement trucks sitting out in front of your favourite Lonsdale coffee shops.  Shouting back and forth over the annoying hyper sounds of Mussatto’s CityShaping.  Not to mention all the construction site street delays, traffic congestion and reduced street parking!

On the streets and in coffee shops everybody’s talking about the proposed Harry Jerome (Titanic) SportsPlex.  But we must all keep an open mind, acknowledging our infamous 2014 elected city council has not written a blank cheque for the project… yet.  Hopefully the new elected city council will downsize and have a little more mercy on city taxpayers as annual operating costs are projected to be in and around six million and city property taxes will be going up 2.2%!

Anyone running for city council like Councillors Clark, (Bell) & non city resident Back bantering a $237+ million Harry Jerome SportsPlex undoubtedly will be – swimming up stream – when it comes to voter support north of City Hall, where a majority are dead against this Titanic sinkhole.  #vote4ChangeOct20

The city’s last council meeting before an 8 week hiatus ended as I predicted in a “4 to 3” snort, ne-e-eigh decision to spend AT LEAST $237 MILLION on a new Harry Jerome Titanic SportsPlex!


With 1,602 pages of in-haste density being ram-chucked through last Monday Night’s contemptible city council meeting, it is no wonder they will need 8, that’s eight weeks to recuperate.  Retreating to their ivory towers, having preposterously made a complete farce out of the OCP and Regional Growth Strategy guidelines and DEVASTATING the Harry Jerome Neighbourhood!  Councillors Back, Clark, Bell & Bookham “4 to 3” subservient horse traders, in unison turned their backs on HJ neighbourhood resident concerns…  and yes leaving taxpayers on the hook for any (inevitable) development overruns!

Since our 2014 last elections we have witnessed the en masse deconstruct of our city and City Council; developer bought & paid for and lovin’ to horse trade with Mussatto’s vulturine campaign donors!  (more in Friday’s video blog)  #HadEnoughBuchananClarkBellBack!

Worth mentioning:  Once again Upper Lonsdale Businesses were at the mercy of LL’s watery plunge…  sales noticeably down, especially at the UL coffee shops I visited over the weekend.  Thanks to our mayor and city council this city will always be a Tale of Two Cities:  the Lower Haves and the Upper Have Nots.  #UpperLonsdaleSOL
