CNV Mayoral Debate Opening Discerns… as well as exposing a little night-mayorish density horror!

But I am running out of time with a number of freelance projects to cross-off my list before surrendering my North Vancouver residency in just nine days  – yikes.  #SustainableSeniorHorizons – here I come.

The first video features all 5 mayoral candidates putting their best foot forward announcing why they should be our next mayor.  I did a little intro clean up editing on each wannabe mayor candidate that should not diminish or take away any mayoral candidate’s tenor…  But I did however superimpose a couple captions over Councillors Buchanan and Clark video frames as the intent of my blog since day one has always been to expose just how convoluting, disconnected and polarized our city politics has sorely become under our mayor’s “4 to 3” Team Slate and by our other three horse trading City Councillors!

My taken aback moment was when the debate turned to the question (paraphrasing) “is there too much density in our city” and WTF: hearing Councillor Buchanan affirm: “I’m comfortable with where we are in the density that we put in and where we put it.”

Does this not suspect one to believe the Darwin Construction’s 850+ unit unprecedented twin towers horse trading takeover of the Harry Jerome Lands whereby Buchanan did not vote in favour was nothing more than a two step con job.  Knowing full-well her fellow Team Slate non city resident Holly Back was going to tip the scales in favour of the project thus letting herself and our unscrupulous mayor off the hook.  #despicables  #Vote4ChangeOct20  #TimeToChangeCourse

And just how is wannabe night-mayor Linda Buchanan going to be able to “remain on course” continuing her city’s “new norm” in density overload if elected mayor, well…


Wannabe night-mayor Linda Buchanan… you know the one who tried to pull the wool over everybody’s eyes by voting against her buddy developer Darwin Construction by not voting in favour in the devastation of the Harry Jerome Neighbourhood.  KNOWING DAMN WELL non city resident Councillor Holly Back was in favour of the project thus enabling an uncanny swing in favour of the 800+ residential log jam increase to the community and guaranteeing a $237+ million Harry Jerome Sportsplex!  #timeToChangeCourse  #Vote4ChangeOct20

During tonight’s CNV mayoral candidates forum expect wannabe mayor’s Councillors Clark and Buchanan to bring the house down with their smoke n’ mirrors hustling rhetoric!


Tonight’s mayoral candidate opening act will no doubt feature uncanny performances from Councillor’s Buchanan and Clark as they camouflage and or misconstrue their on the record failing pro development math.

Horsetrader Clark will no doubt voice: For I am the one who introduced the city’s 10/10/10 renter policy for all new rental housing starts… The only obvious sink hole in this approach though admirable; is the fact new rental market housing costs for a two or three bedroom family rental unit are now in excess of 2 to 3 thousand smackaroos and will continue to be for many a year hereafter.  It doesn’t matter how you slice and dice it Clark your 10% off $2K & $3+K will not cut it.  They will be still too UNAFFORDABLE and UNSUSTAINABLE for far too many young families, seniors and those on fixed incomes and thus will only further cloud CNV’s social and economic wellness.  #Vote4ChangeOctober20

Wannabe night-mayor Buchanan on the other hand wants our “new norm” development levels to “remain on course” within the loosey goosey forever amended pro development toothless OCP guidelines.  Thereby repudiating any and all Regional Strategy Targets now surpassing 2041 densification levels.  She is also fostering all purpose-built rental housing by how:  RENOVICTING and DISPLACING even more low income residents from their apartment buildings and thereby further shrinking the social and economic wellness of this city.  #timeToChangeCourse

Wannabe Mayor Councillors Buchanan And Clark Are Ready to Program Your Livability… Whether You Want Them To Or Not.


What happened during last Monday Night’s City Council Fight Card should be an indication in what to expect next week… Like Mussatto’s developer pal Polygon Gallery looking to grab more taxpayer’s money.   A 2014 Mussatto campaign donor whom under poor management low-balled their operational costs and its sustainability into the future.  Luckily for taxpayers their “11th hour $225 bridged finance request” has been at least deferred to at least next Monday’s city council meeting or will it be deferred to city council’s last chance meeting on October 29th… after CNV citizens have decided if it is time for change or not.

Meanwhile out on the mayoral campaign trail two of our despicable city councillor’s Buchanan n’  Clark are flooding and polluting front lawns and defecating green spaces with their damn wannabe mayoral signs.  Two anti NIMBY’s voicing similar sanctimonious robotic platforms that would enable either one IF elected to further deconstruct and devastate the social wellness and livability of our city…  All you have to do discerning voters is look at their evidentiary pro density city council records over the last four years.  #EnoughBullShit

Psst… Sources tell me Councillor Clark is running for mayor and WTF: Out-of-Towner Councillor Back will be in his corner as will be Cha-Ching Darwin Construction!


All mayor support systems on deck… if Councillor Clark is ever going to see the light of day as CNV Mayor; he is going to need the support of horse trader developer pal Darwin Construction in order to keep pace with Councillor Buchanan’s donor bank i.e. Onni, Polygon and Hollyburn like-backers.  #ElectionDonorTransparency #DaylightCampaignFinancing

And it should come to no surprise that Buchanan & Back have (sob) parted ways.  Wannabe night-mayor Buchanan can’t have someone like Holly on her team who voted in favour of the $240M HJ Sportsplex and Darwin’s takeover of the Harry Jerome Lands with an 8 year en masse dual towers build – all which Linda opposed.  Projects that would surely lessen her slim chances in becoming mayor.  Developments that HJ neighbourhood overwhelmingly did not support and on election night will have the last word by not voting for any city councillor who supported these unprecedented monstrosities… I wonder if horse trader Councillor Bell will join Clark’s Team or will Don walk away from the political arena.

FTR: non city resident Councillor Back has the exclusive honour in being the ONLY councillor who voted in favour of EVERY hair raising towering development in our city over the last four years! 

City Council’s Affinity for “Faulty Towering Horse Trading” Continues Tonight. This should be the final nail sealing their unelectable coffins… especially by any Councillor daring to run for mayor. Vote 4 Change October 20th.


With today’s ESCALATING construction costs showing no signs in slowing down, by the time the proposed “HJ Titanic” SportsPlex Centre is built, I assure you overrun costs will be well beyond today’s $210 MILLION DOLLAR price tag!   Meaning: the leasing of the Harry Jerome Lands to Mussatto’s double dipping donor Darwin Construction was: “be the first to know” nothing less than one hell of a bargain land grab!”  This will surely lead to the HJ Titanic’s booty sinking in its own glutenous shortsightedness. 

The only alternative is to lose the damn Olympic size pool & curling rink and build it in a cost effective timely measured components, afforded and rationalized by the newly elected city council. i.e. when comps mentis, rationale returns to city council in over a decade.

My POV is still and will always remain the same… renovate the existing Harry Jerome CRC and tell Darwin to go “multiply elsewhere.”  And in the upcoming election I will not be voting for the return of any of these colluding city councillors or those shameless enough to run for mayor.  They have proven to be in the pockets of their 2014 campaign donors or colluding horse traders.  Either way in my mind they are incompetent civic legislators, failing to equate the “social construct of our existing neighbourhoods.” i.e. having turned their backs on NIMBY’s time after time, over and over and over again!  #Enough!  #Vote4Change

And finally tonight we will witness the final scenes in a made for city council staged play I’ve entitled: “The Councillor Back Fix Is In.”  Mayor Mussatto, wannabe mayor Buchanan, Councillor Keating will be wearing their pseudo masks denouncing such an oversized recreational centre and their concerns over the Harry Jerome Lands unprecedented 30 & 26 storey faulty towers… HYPOCRITES who have since their 2014 re-elections have recklessly approved every prior high rise development.  Mussatto’s Team Slate: Buchanan, Keating and Back having turned their backs on EVERY neighbourhood petition, letters and emails in protest.   #LestWeNeverForgetOnOctober20

Today’s Sunday blog is a precursor i.e. what to expect in tomorrow’s Harry Jerome Titanic Rec Centre “PROJECT APPROVAL” and Harry Jerome’s Financing Structure and (Genga) Risk.  The following video clip features none other than our infamous mayor from last Monday’s Night’s NV Museum & Archives main event.  Even though the subject in question was the financial overruns & shortfalls with the NVMA.  The mayor could not help but point out the crossover similarities when it comes to the proposed Titanic HJ Sports Centre.  Identifying the en masse density explosion that is about to consume Upper Lonsdale Communities…  An unprecedented 8+ Years devastation – deteriorating its livability and social wellness!  And lest we forget its inevitable UNAFFORDABILITY for anyone/family making annually less than $150K by 2023-5.  #unaffordableHousing  #MASSattoVille
