Did you know… Seymour Village Phase 3 is proudly bragging they are presenting the lowest affordable new 2 and 3 bedroom town homes on the North Shore starting at ONLY 999,950! And then closer to home we have Green on Queensbury 1 to 3 bedroom condo and town homes from $850,000 to over $1,260,00 (not wanting to admit they will cost more).
How many 20/30 something families do you know can afford $4K monthly mortgage payments, or pay $2K monthly for rent while still having enough money left over for their children’s education, clothing, sporting equipment, piano lessons to putting food on the table… none, thought so. #We’reOnTheEveOfGentrification
And then during last weekend North Shore traffic came to a stand still Saturday afternoon due to a Second Narrows Bridge and Upper Levels accidents keeping traffic bottle-necked for hours. Traffic chaos all our North Shore mayors and city councils have voted in favour in their pursuit in continuing to permit over capacity development within their cities. #NorthShoreSOL
And… it should be to no one’s surprise our leading M.I.A. city councillor Keating CHOSE NOT TO ATTEND the city council’s last 2017 meeting and retreat into the new year. #ContemptibleKeating
It has been a year of en masse density and traffic travesty

Having SOLD its soul to vulturine invested developers.
I must say I was almost impressed by the NSNews poignancy when it came to our dire traffic woes featured in last Wednesday’s front page using recent Canada Statistics and follow-up over on their “viewpoint” editorial page validating just how bad our daily traffic commute has become. The paper gave DNV mayor Walton the last word conceding the need to build strategic town centres and affordable housing… But what he didn’t say and the “NSSnooze” did not ask him was: is he willing to put a temporary hold on new condo highrise developments. And why does he think the BC NDP are seriously studying “mobility pricing” since they ran and got elected promising the elimination of bridge tolls. The kiss of death… just ask the BC Liberal Party and what will surely befall any mayor supporting mobility pricing during the 2018 civic elections.
I also can’t help but be a little suspicious why the NSN did not let our CNV mayor weigh in on this congested conundrum. You know the mayor who just spent over $20 million taxpayer’s money so 2.5% cyclists can bike to work. A mayor who continues to prioritize condo highrise developments and NOT mini malls having parkades or crusading for affordable government assisted housing. An autocratic inglorious mayor who sold our city to his campaign vultures whose profit margins would be negatively impacted by constructing any of the aforementioned. And then again WHERE would in our little enclosed city would one find an empty lot or any demo potential property that hasn’t already been forfeited to an IOU developer from “behind closed doors”… ho, ho, ho.
My sources are not always right on target but I still trust them over anything written in the NSNews. My apologizes as now the question is: who in the hell besides “double donor dipping” Darwin Properties is going to be there since MOST city residents will STILL be commuting, congested in homeward bound traffic.
CBC Vancouver Municipal Affairs reporter Justin McElroy writes: “Is there hope for a North Shore transportation solution anytime soon?” While of course not, and not for decades thanks to the likes of our mayor and his controlling Team Slate City Council Hijackers Buchanan, Keating, Back.
I was taken aback by bullshitter Mussatto’s falsehood quip: “We’re trying to do work to find out what’s really going on with the traffic, what’s causing that, and we want to address solutions in a proper way.” Again BULLSHIT, he knows EXACTLY what has caused our traffic woes – his maniacal density push by autocratically strong-arming density levels beyond 2014 Regional Growth Strategy Levels and constructing FAILING $20+ million bike lanes! The essentials on which his legacy will forever and justifiably be judged.

From my POV it would be best if residents simply stayed away and enjoyed a family dinner at home or night out because it is “already a done deal” and the drawings DO NOT OFFER SOCIAL HOUSING. And the developer will be deflecting all “unforeseen, not our problem,” increased traffic congestion and guaranteed overcrowded busing. Any resident input much like Hollyburn’s Marlborough 3 apartment complex now under construction and about to bottleneck traffic along Lonsdale and 13 St. will be graciously received with disingenuous deaf ears! Remember Darwin Properties INVESTED not once but TWICE into the willing hostage takeover of our mayor’s 2014 campaign. #CNVSOL

Despicable’s indebted to their campaign development backers and vainglorious egos; having heedlessly voted in favour of EVERY high density project after another to the point where we have now surpassed 2041 regional levels!
MLA Densifier’s Dumb, Dumber and Dim-wit (you decide which one is which), had better soon realize their pro density North Shore city councillor pals come next year’s civic elections may not as in probably won’t be re-elected with a few of these City Slickers like our mayor not running for re-election. At which point ALL three MLA’s will be confronted by new city hall board of directors. North Shore City Councils that won’t be in favour of more density, more unaffordable development nor will they ever be in favour of taxing our highways and bridges… and there lies your Density Fate of ever again getting re-elected.
