My morning CoffeeBrew crowd have ordained Councillors Back, Clark, Bell & Bookham as the “Four Horsemen of the Harry Jerome Apocalypse.”  The density flood gates are forever open thanks to these four despicables.  And developers will make damn sure Darwin’s “city council” approved 30 tower is the new density bar, aka height standard for all new projects north of 17th Avenue.  #CollusionGluttonyHypocrisySabotage

Well at least those of us north of seventeenth like me know who not to vote for on October 20th.  It is also a good reason why we should also release (if we only could) our city administrators i.e. OCP City Planners and Engineers who have embraced the new towering heights demagoguery north of 17th and every other high rise project throughout our city since 2014.  Anti NIMBY’s who have made a complete mockery out of our OCP and on the record City Planning Dir. Mr. Epp repudiating Regional Growth Strategy Levels now sitting somewhere beyond 2041 population growth levels.  #CityHallCorruption

And lest we forget and never ever should we let wannabe night-mayor Buchanan off the hook.  EVERYWHERE you turn you are sooner than later faced with a “Buchanan” detour, a lane closure, a construction site delay or left frustrated trying to find street parking in and around every damn construction site.  Especially right now on Keith Rd. east and on 3rd Street between Queensbury and St. Andrews – what a bottlenecking nightmare they are during 3 to 6 pm rush hour!

EVERYONE of these developments, including the new Hollyburn apartment project which is of course thanks to our developer compliant city hall is permitted to shut down the curb lane at the intersection of Lonsdale and 13th for the next couple of years at their leisure.  You can emphatically BLAME BUCHANAN and her fellow Mussatto Team Slate that includes non city resident Holly Back.  Despicables who IGNORED EVERY Hollyburn neighbourhood petition, Public Hearing and emails against this colluding project… More city resident voters you can “count on” not willing to elect any Mussatto Team Slate collusion member running in our October 20 civic election.  #Enough2014CityCouncil

Welcome to our mayor’s 2019 City Wake… a city he would not dare have on his resume after October 20th.  As some are beginning to whisper a chickenshit unwilling to face the completion of his CityShaping Manhattan Project i.e. realizing this could only further damage his contemptible & vainglorious mayoral-ship legacy.  A once unassuming city his infamy will definitively record he mayor-ily gentrified on behalf of his vulturous towering donors and spending over $22M on a Black Necklace for the sake of a few measly cyclists willing to bike to work.  A legacy wannabe mayor Buchanan is ready & eager to WTH further advance in his image. And before you start pointing fingers only at our four horse trading city councillors: Clark, Bell, Bookham & non city resident Back favouring and coercing a new Harry Jerome Titanic SportsPlex…  Do not lose sight in what SPAWNED this $237 million sink hole.  The mayor’s 2014 re-election double dipping donor Darwin Construction in consort behind closed doors with our mayor’s compliant city planners & engineers.  A project that had to have been in the works for quite some time don’t you think.  After all mayor Mussatto never seemed in any hurry or ever sounded like he wanted to update or renovate our existing Harry Jerome Community Recreational Centre…  coincidence – you decide.

Further:  The sky may not be falling but our city is untenantable far too many.  Just how negative the impact of even a minor housing collapse will have on our city’s sustainability is already blurred by overhead spawning hazy skies.  #cnvSOL

Our housing unaffordability crisis will not be overcome or resolved by the eminent upcoming October 20th fresh out of the box elected city councils.  It will take more than 4 yearsperhaps up to a decade before Metro Vancouver’s social and housing wellness will inherit any kind of genuine housing semblance…  unless there is as some housing experts are forecasting – an impending cataclysmic unaffordablility housing collapse!  #HousingBubbleBurst

 

… Meanwhile our infamous city council will in September continue affording projects like NV Museum & Archives more money after they shoehorned themselves into a horsetrading Polygon Esplanade towering location i.e. being in desperate panic mode to find a new home, recklessly misappropriating their move-in setup/display costs.  Consequentially leaving them with a $550k shortfall egg on their archival faces…

CNV residents may be more familiar with the global welcoming politics of PM Trudeau and Trump’s sanctioned Fake News. But more and more CNV residents are beginning to realize due to the “poor turnout” in our 2014 city elections our city has become a Density Netherworld!


With our runaway development and neverending amending or superseding rezoning bylaws being approved like at last Monday night’s city council meeting…  Is finally having an on the wane affect leading to more & more CNV residents saying enough is enough; revolting against their en masse unaffordable density demagoguery.   Hopefully they and many more will emphatically Vote for Change on October 20th.

Everywhere I turn neighbours are fed up with all the construction lane closures, bus overloads, shrinking commercial parking and businesses unable to find affordable qualified help.  #cnvSOL

And here is the kicker… it WILL and can only get WORSE with our city council’s 11th hour efforts to ram through city council as many density developments as possible on behalf of their vulturous developer pals and in the name of their vainglorious infamies.  #Vote4ChangeOctober20

City Council is ready & set to sign off on a monster Driftwood Co-housing project offering 8 at 25% below market housing prices at 2020/21 development costs! And in unison SOCKING IT TO residents on either side regarding height and side setbacks!


Ready, get set…tonight city council is about to approve a GENTRIFIED strata co-housing project.  A project with good intentions but let’s not kid ourselves.  When these eight 25% below market housing units are completed in two plus years and if housing prices keep soaring above and beyond 1.5 to 2+ million on the North Shore and with Canada Interests Rates just going up – you will need at least $150K to qualify along with one hell of a hefty down payment.  Never mind how much it will be to qualify for any of the remaining fully priced family units… my guess is at least $200K!  #CNVgentrification  #UnaffordableCoHousing

At least the mayor and most city councillors did put a temporary hold on this project at last week’s city council meeting.  Requesting our scam artist city engineers and planning departments to see how the existing 20 ft. wide lane and its location which is WTF: not part of the planned development can be best saved.  A 30+ year city lane that must be narrowed behind project to 10 ft and partially fenced (Wagg Park) butting up to lane in order to facilitate the co-housing project’s traffic flow entering and existing from their underground strata parking stalls!  #WrongHousing  #WrongNeighbourhoodDensity

And with a looming mayoral race only months away, I thought I would pull the POV’s on this projects affordability from wannabe mayor Buchanan and from: is Clark running for city council or mayor…

Hold onto your electoral ballots Guy Heywood has thrown his hat into the mayoral ring.


First I want to thank all those who wanted to support my run for city councillor.  This was by no means an easy decision, triggered by June 18’s underhanded Harry Jerome Lands Rezoning Public Hearing and then the unconscionable audacity of Darwin/Collier Realty to release “in print’ the knowledge that Harry Jerome Lands behind Harry Jerome Neighbourhood resident’s back is a foregone conclusion!

The 8 to 9 years needed to construct these premeditated faulty towers and annihilation of the existing Harry Jerome Lands is the straw that broke my camel’s back.  I will not spend a decade in a convoluting “destroy and build” city council SELLOUT CONSTRUCTION ZONE!

Moving on…  We are only “101 days or 14 weeks + 3 days” away from electing a new mayor & hopefully six “new” neighbourly city councillors.  Currently we have two insiders and 1 1/2 outsiders, Guy Heywood having served previously on the 2009 city council running for mayor… Curious, does anyone know what happened to Heywood’s drummed-up NVCAA regime?  Their website is MIA.

With 4 candidates running for mayor maybe we’ll begin to read and hear a little “pre-season” mayoral race trash talk along with fireworks turfing and boasting on who is best suited to be our new leader.  Wouldn’t it be nice if these four familiar contenders inspired others to run for mayor.  Mayoral candidates bringing a breath of fresh air in social & economic perspectives.  Especially after being held hostage for 4 long years by a city council that is developer compliant and anti NIMBY!  But running for mayor ain’t cheap, same goes running for city councillor!

I left out pro-amalgamation George Pringle who has not officially thrown-in his hat into the mayor’s ring.  In the last election he received around 300 votes.  But it would be interesting in having two amalgamation candidates running and see who would get the majority of the CNV “307” who voted in favour i.e. twinning of our North Shore cities from the recent farcical District/NRG reunification survey.

How in the hell mayor and city councillor despicables can Darwin Construction via Colliers International Realty have had the audacity to send out to local business/retail establishments earlier this week a mail-out brochure prior any final decision making on their “leased” commercial spaces.  Retail floor plans they are currently advertising as office spaces you can now “own!” i.e. after complying with the requirements of the BC Real Estate Dev. Marketing Act and filing a disclosure statement.  #unlawfulAct

Two weeks ago city council only approved the rezoning of the Harry Jerome Lands to new unprecedented fornicating heights.  “NOTHING IS YET ETCHED IN STONE REGARDING THE FINAL USE OF THESE LANDS – TO BE DECIDED “IN COMBINE” WITH CITY COUNCIL AND NOT BEFORE THE NEW HJ REC CENTRE HAS BEEN APPROVED!”  #FoulPlay

Back in the nineties I was for 3 years the Art Director for the largest architect firm at the time in Alberta (TCEP).  I know how much design time and print turnaround it takes to produce one of these “sophisticated” candy coated colour brochures.  I designed umpteen of these type brochures, AO Boards and their annual calendar during my years at this architect firm.  Whom in 2010 merged with other architect and engineer firms across Canada and are now collectively known as DIALOG.

The point I am making is my credentials tell me this was not an overnight rush job!  Darwin under wraps may have been GREEN LIT months ago – prior the rezoning HJ Lands Public Hearing from only two weeks ago!  #collusion  #InsideJob

Darwin “is” a double-dipping donor to Mussatto’s 2014 campaign and is about to be richly rewarded 8 YEAR FOLD.  No commercial realtor would EVER RISK being LIABLE in selling retail space in a building(s) that has not yet been APPROVED by the respective CITY COUNCIL!  Nor would they ever be willing to waste money on a brochure on behalf of their “client” (Darwin) if they knew CNV City Council/City Planners and “mayor” were completely onside for this en mass mammoth fornicating development!  #InsideTrading
