Insurrection: an act or instance of rising in revolt, rebellion, or resistance against civil authority like: an established (CNV) government!
Sound at all familiar NSCAA – North Vancouver Citizen Action Committee and District Renegades? In other words bordering on Conspiracy. i.e. associated groups attempting to bypass the democratic CNV City Council decision making process. #NSCAAreunificationCoup #DistrictAbrogators
Maybe this is why Guy Heywood has not announced running for CNV mayoral ’cause he also wants to be the mayor of DNV? And in the meantime he is anxiously awaiting the results – last day being today – in the NRG Research Group’s online public opinion survey for both District and CNV residents… Has any CNV resident ever heard of this survey, unless that is, you are a member of the Revolutionary NSCAA Guard or follow The
North Van District Voices freedom fighter’s blog.
Unfortunately this reunification exploration coup is blatantly BYPASSING and REPUDIATING CNV democratic elected Council’s current opposition on amalgamation, if anything it is creating further DIVISIVENESS! In order for any chance in the twinning of our two cities would require both existing city councils to come to “in-depth terms” which we know is not going to happen (if ever) according to CNV mayor Mussatto and seemingly most city residents…
So the only way this sponsored DNV Bolshevik survey will have any smack is if and only if it receives 50%+1 from ALL ELIGIBLE CNV VOTERS AND DNV VOTERS! And folks that just isn’t going to happen.
Kerry Morris running for city mayor contests: the matter needs a detailed examination. Is he possibly waiting for the “aftermath” results of this intrusive NRG District survey before making up his mind. This leaves us with OMG pro-density, psycho-lying path Linda Buchanan as the only anti-amalgamation candidate running for CNV mayor on a possible Red October election night – yikes! #cnvSOL
Wanted for CNV Civic Election, October 20, 2018:
A mayoral candidate without any developer collusion, special interest baggage or amalgamation hysteria (I know a tall order).
A candidate who would be the runaway mayoral favourite! #unitedWEstand
In today’s blog I’m going out on the limb hoping most will see the historic humour and apropos sarcasm in my copy and re-worked NVCV banner.
The North Van City Voices Blog should maybe change (in the short term) their name to the DISTRICT VOICES! (much like the NSNews should change its name to NS District Rag) Re: WELCOMING the news the District of North Vancouver is making a new as in – nothing has changed – at amalgamating with the City of North Vancouver. This from a blog that says it is non-political – doesn’t take sides – really. A seemingly “pro District blog” supporting power to the (Bolshevik) District City Council over our city council democracy – promoting “anarchy” or is it a District revolution er amalgamation coup! And with a wanton District amalgamation/revolution on the horizon will we be looking at a plebiscite aka Red October 20th Ballot Box. #DNVBolshevikRevolution
In the 2014 city elections the only pro amalgamation mayoral candidate was George Pringle and he received less than a thousand votes with mayor Mussatto squeaking out victory over Kerry Morris who was neither for or against. As one fellow coffee mate gal put it to me recently “is Kerry running as a double agent”. But in all fairness he further iterated the matter needs a detailed examination which we should do. But your current “elected city council” insists nothing has changed, so what further detailed examination is necessary when “nothing has changed?”
Also on election night besides Morris and possibly Pringle running for mayor there will be at least two more candidates… “Someone” from the NSCAA as in maybe Guy Heywood who in his archived blog was all for amalgamation thus leaving WTH wannabe mayor Linda Buchanan the only one seemingly opposed to the reunification of the two cities.
Hey little sister city – it’s a nice day to start again… Potential District Coup White Wedding Unplugged Theme Song?
With density having reached unprecedented 2041+ levels many are now realizing the adverse impact and negative wellness it is having on our neighbourhoods. We do not need up to 1,500 more residents taking over the existing HJCRC lands as it only further injects unabated commuter congestion and gridlock and neighbourhood stress.
Re: HJCRC, I realize there are according to the MODUS survey a mere 900 across the entire North Shore of over 180K in support of the proposed HJCR Centre and only 241 whose postal code actually live in this neighbourhood. Yes, our existing HJCRC is at the end of its run. But I am completely opposed to spending $130 to $160 MILLION on an enchilada sporting mega-dome. The interest so far does not warrant such an all inclusive sporting facility. And our current HJCRC is NOT operating anywhere near full capacity, partly due to the onslaught of private fitness centres and just a few blocks north of HJCRC is the “brand new” Delbrook Community Recreation Centre that has a six lane, 25 metre pool. And what is blatantly missing is an attached PARKADE, or inclusive ground level parking to accommodate the traffic for those attending say an aquatic competition. A spendthrift mega-dome dependent on drawing people from across the North Shore and from the lower mainland… oh yeah I forgot everyone will be bicycling or taking transit and being dropped off and picked up at the ONE NORTH/SOUTH BUS STOP.
We should be seriously looking at alternative low-cost prefabricated modular options allowing for a much faster and cost effective turnaround in the reconstruct of our existing HJCRC. Rebuilding from the ground up in SECTIONS – independent state of the art building materials – allowing the rest of the existing rec centre to remain active. This would allow new second floor areas to be portable, interchangeable, easily updated meeting the unforeseen demands placed on the new rec centre for decades to come… and there lies the challenge, the needed resilience to reinvent our 52 year old HJCRC working drawings.
Tonight’s agenda once again does not address our many SHORTcomings like: offering city rent-controlled housing for people who work full or part-time in our local business whom cannot AFFORD our escalating rental/housing costs. And like so many asking: “Why does the Mayor hide our Statement of Financial Information – is it that incriminating?”
Meanwhile way, way back during our last NVCH meeting…
