Incredulous Millennium Properties new Condo Development is a good fit for our mayor’s fire sale in never having enough density for our city!

The Public Hearing for a new massive condo/commercial development to further compromise pedestrian, traffic and rear lane access flows in and around our critical Police, Fire and EMS Lego Block was overwhelmingly approved somewhere around 10 to 1, mostly by those who actually DO NOT LIVE in the neighbourhood.  They must have a death wish wanting to cross paths with fire trucks, police cars and ambulances.  And or going deaf i.e. of unsound mind in wanting to further jeopardize our emergency vehicle operations at an already highly congested Lonsdale and St. Georges block… awe the sounds of our mayor’s Manhattan CityShaping fornication!  #NIMBYdisconnect  #Vote4ChangeOct20

…and of course our infamous mayor in his praise for Millennium Properties would not or could never admit that his developer pal’s project would and could only further INTENSIFY pedestrian and vehicle traffic flows.  Never willing to concede to the adverse and precarious impact it will have on our city’s “centrally located” police & fire departments and EMS/hospital response times.  #disingenuousMayorMussatto

NDP MLA Ma’s INSTPP (Integrated North Shore Transportation Planning Project) is really nothing more than a MISTPP

During last Monday’s Night’s “32 Agenda Items wallowing in 696 pages” fixated on ramin’ & jamin’ through as many new zoning bylaws, rezoning amendments was the passing of MLA Ma’s INSTPP…  A wonderful passive aggressive: not today and certainly not tomorrow resolve to our North Shore Traffic Woes.  Or what I prefer to milquetoast as a MISTPP: Micromanaging Incompatible Sacrificial Transportation Planning Project.

I’ll save Monday Night’s City Council’s 2 Public Hearing buffoonery for Friday’s blog… As what should not be overlooked is our four out of the six homespun mayoral candidates were interviewed on CBC’s Early Edition Stephen Quinn Show “traffic themed” podcast last week.  The podcast certainly offered insight into just how proverbial contentious and artful these wannabe mayoral contenders – no holds  barred – plan to be.

There were two standouts for me, first was Linda Buchanan a leader over the last four years for en masse development, renter displacement and having one of the worst city council attendance records over the last fours years swears she has definitive Fake News insight much like MLA Ma, debunking there is no way density contributes to our inner city traffic or commuter woes!

So… when your campaign donor Hollyburn completes its Marlborough 3 OCP 17 bonus floors of density amidst a strong NIMBY petition you flat-out ignored along with voting in favour of Onni’s Centre View twin towers another one of your campaign donors on the adjacent Lonsdale corner will NOT IMPACT the already heavily congested Lonsdale & 13 St. intersection where bus stop overloads are the norm coming from Lynn Valley’s bursting at the seams buses – really.  Even if say up to 60% of new building residents cram themselves into a bus, bike or walk to work that still results in a 40% increase in traffic volume!

Secondly, the mayoral candidates acknowledged the need for improved “transit” access to North Van.  But it was “only Guy Heywood” who took a “North Shore city bus” to the CBC podcast locale in Vancouver City.  One of the few times there was no rhetoric spewing out of the mouths of the other car loving mayoral candidates…  Interview starts at about the 11 minute mark of the podcast – you decide.

As I continue my blog campaign to “displace” from City Hall our pro density & horse trading councillors from civic office. #Vote4ChangeOct20

Mayor Darrell R. Mussatto’s Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious density flood gates are officially open for business!

Our developer donor indebted mayor and “unelected” city clerk, new CEO and in-Epp OCP Planning Director have had more than enough time since July 23rd’s last meeting to over agenda-size and proceed to ramrod their hyper-density agenda through tonight’s expected (yawn) city council 4 1/2 to 5 hour meeting.  And don’t expect the 3 remaining city council meetings to show any less mercy when it comes to pushing through the mayor’s Manhattan CityShaping final and Last Testament…. all aboard.

Here are my top five most viewed faves for August as we yikes… get ready for tomorrow’s density packed agenda!

Usually August is one of my slower viewed months with North Van Shorians on vacation – but not this year.  Add to that my coffee shop visits to being stopped up and down Lonsdale; I am hearing more times than not their frustration being inundated by so much (noise) construction, lane closures, not enough parking for shop owners who in turn are unable to find and sustain qualified help.

But there is now one noticeable theme rising in these one on one conversations… everybody’s talking about the upcoming election and how they want a voice in who’s in and who’s out around City Council Chambers head table. “Most” seem to want a fresh “developer resistant” city council that will actually LISTEN and are first and foremost ACCOUNTABLE to city residents – placing their concerns/issues ahead of developer interests!

And in my Upper Lonsdale community there is an overwhelming 1,000 resident movement to swath the entire existing city council from office and if they could would also love to eradicate most of our City Planners.  This is how volatile and angered a growing number of city residents have become i.e. have had their fill – have had enough of mayor Mussatto and his city councillors love fest with developers…

Perhaps Guy Heywood or Kerry Morris deserve a closer look in becoming our next mayor.  I mean what have you got to lose after 4 years of unprecedented demo-victions, gentrified housing and so much damn traffic chaos… ALL which wannabe night-mayor Buchanan concurs: makes  our city one of the MOST LIVABLE city’s anywhere.  #FakeNewsBuchanan  #vote4changeOct20

Rolling, Rolling, Gotta Keep Demo-victions Rolling!

This weekend is your last chance to catch your breath before the onslaught of density projects by our non compos mentis density-struct mayor MASSatto.  While our anti NIMBY City Planners and newbie via Edmonton CEO Ms. McCarthy are all aboard for this city council’s final push for: more density, to hell with road infrastructures – foutre de congestion traffic and let’s keep evicting MORE RENTERS for our mayor’s Manhattan CityShaping legacy.

The 10/10/10 or is it 10/maybe20/perpetuity renter bullshit is not going to attract many new or entice previous renters to: come back y’all to one of our upcoming 2019-21 market value rental projects.  The below market value rentals within will still rob young families, seniors $2K+ a month of their monthly hard earned income or pension.  And now further jacked-up by our NDP’s (MLA Ma) 2019 landlord fee increase from 4 to 4.5%!

And lest we shall never forget this entire City Council under Mayor Grinch’s cunning said NO to the previous Clark government’s $500 million Low Cost Housing Program that the City of Vancouver and the District mayor’s “welcomed.”  Now these same reprobates are saying in an election year: “low income affordable housing can truly only come from provincial or federal intervention” which they ALL LAST YEAR DECLINED!  #CityCouncilHypocrites  #despicalbles  #disingenuous

Sign, Sign… Sigh Everywhere a Demo-eviction Sign!

Coming up next Monday night is one of the last chances for MASSatto and his “onboard” City Councillors to thwart even more density into city neighbourhoods before October 20th.  And all you have to do is look in any city community and you will see without fail a “city development application sign,” to be APPROVED before October 20th!  Some of these signs are only a block or two from each other.  Our colluding City Council and their lapdog City Planners are “comin’ to getcha.”  #vote4changeOct20

A City Council agenda that has absolutely no regard for residents who want to take a deep breath and “live for today” and not ALWAYS prioritizing for tomorrow.   A city council basking in reckless over development, noise pollution, lane closures, street parking shortages, failing road infrastructures, businesses shutting down or moving away from our city shores.  A city council hell bent in uprooting and sucking out the city’s marrow needed for the economic and social wellness of its city i.e. low income workers and millennial families.  #cnvSOL

What needs to happen and what should be the right of every citizen not yet displaced from our city is:  1. Just how many residents since early 2015 forward has the Mayor, his Team Slate and our horse trading councillors have callously evicted from their homes.  2. How many of these renters found via the developer or city an equal affordable rental in “their area.”  3. How many displaced renters could not find equal affordable rent and now live elsewhere in the Lower Mainland.  4. How many have ended up living on the street, in parks, out of their cars or from: seen better days RV’s.  #WeNeedToKnow #ShamelessCityCouncil

Is it a good fit for the neighbourhood Mussatto and Buchanan or would it be a better fit up your backsides!

Our infamous mayor and his colluding City Councillors love affair with wall to wall density like: “it’s a good fit for the neighbourhood” mantra over mobility and infrastructure deficiencies are the head to head key issues I am hearing in coffee shops in both Upper and Lower Lonsdale.  A close second is our city’s UNAFFORDABILITY and SHRINKING commercial and residential street parking.

Citizens have had ENOUGH of this city council’s NIMBY disconnect.  Some going as far as to say to me if only we could vote these scoundrels out of office today!   I would go one step further insisting if only we could also OVERHAUL our City Planners and Black Necklace and “no right hand turn on red lights” Engineers today!  #Vote4ChangeOct20
