Tonight’s Harry Jerome Lands Public Hearing: In one corner we have Mussatto’s Team Slate double dippin’ donor Darwin Construction tagging up with CNV Community Density Councillors and in the other corner uh, unified Upper Lonsdale residents – GLWT

Tonight is all about proposing once again changes to our toothless OCP bylaws and of course “amending  zoning bylaws” to accommodate the inane density madness proposed for the HJ Neighbourhood Lands.

The amount of density pollution, traffic & parking chaos this community will have to endure for at least eight long years should be criminal at best.  But try telling that to Mussatto’s Team backers “indebted” to their 2014 campaign investor Darwin Construction… or try telling that to city councillors who want to devastate a community in the name of Olympic swimmers and curlers MOST whom do not live in our city!  #UpperLonsdaleSOL

Should we not expect as in like always, Harry Jerome resident voices to be heard then overruled by the end of tonight’s Public Hearing.

If there was ever a double dealing reason, need to bring down our city council on October 20th – this is it…  Unless common sense prevails and a majority of Councillors decide to put these ‘can’t have one without the other’ projects on a back burner to be served up later by the yet to be elected new city council.  #Vote4ChangeOct20

Unfortunately there’s too much horse trading willingness on both sides not to expect a fatal devastating blow to the HJ community… If there was ever a time to believe in 5 act play.

A contentious night it will surely be… giddy up!

June’s Sunday Funny featuring wannabe mayor Buchanan’s unbiased logic on any upcoming developments… like “approving both” a new HJ MegaSportsPlex and Darwin’s twining Megaliths – devastating the Harry Jerome Community!

I’m a fan tried and true,
I’m a fan of doubling density,
How ’bout you?
Say it loud, say it proud,
We want more density, density!
Fight, fight, win, win!
Go Harry Jerome Titanic Rec Centre
Go Darwin Twining Megaliths
‘Cause I want to be your next mayor!
Rah, rah, rah,
Sis-boom-bah!

Are our City Councillors about to “dish-out” more density indigestion in an Upper Lonsdale neighbourhood that is overwhelmingly against this development?… A project that can only be served with a spéciale du jour Harry Jerome “Mega SportsPlex” attached to its meaty hip bone!

This coming Monday Night’s City Council HJ Public Hearing Fight Card will be like no other. In one corner you have the ENTIRE city council wanting massive density dropped on the existing Harry Jerome Lands on different density high-rise levels while demanding of course (it is an election year) some kind of $90K salaried unaffordable low income housing to the type of commercial offices & medical research/services they will want incorporated into our city owned leased lands.

And this can only happen IF Mussatto’s Team Bandits a-line themselves with Independent Team Councillors Bell, Clark and Bookham – “double teaming” – brawling for a monster pool and curling rinks SportsPlex.  And in the later rounds asphyxiating traffic gridlock and putting a chokehold on if you can find it parking in a one-sided demolition massacre of the Harry Jerome Lands and Neighbourhood!

Add to that ALL the outside interference from on-lookers who do not live in this community and the many Olympic pool sized lovers and curling enthusiasts from the District and West Van City…  Does this sound like a fair fight to you?

The only ace Harry Jerome residents have up their sleeve is “reminding city councillors” how they plan to mark their Election Night’s Fight Card if these projects move forward…  Reminding them: “other North Shore city residents favouring a new Titanic HJ SportsPlex don’t get to vote, re-elect any city councillor or get to elect a wannabe running for mayor.”

Will this be the final feather in their albatross caps, having disenfranchised so many neighbourhoods since being elected in late 2014… we’ll know in just 127 days.  #Vote4ChangeOct20

I did it my way… thanks to my developer pal’s financing my 2014 re-election campaign hee, hee.

Mayor Mussatto has stated: “Where else can we put the density”.  Have we not lost enough green space and horizon views because of your over development.  And now city planners want to amend height and land use zoning bylaws in an area of our city deemed off limits to towering high rises.  Allowing a 28 storey residential tower north of 17th will be a “developer’s welcoming precedent” and once set will lead to even MORE towering high rises north of 17th!

All because of a too big for its britches swimming hole; a new Harry Jerome Centre that can only be realized by way of a looming EIGHT YEAR high rise development by Mussatto’s double dipping donor Darwin Properties. That’s EIGHT YEARS of ongoing intrusive density, air & noise pollution’s!  Any city councillor casting a yea vote to construct these joined at the hip cash-strapped projects may find a hovering albatross overhead, a Herculean deconstruct in not getting re-elected in 145 days.

In other sly news, Friday’s NSN aka “District Trojan Crier” reported on a city council agenda item “cannabis report update” they had to have received last Wednesday or Thursday.  Well before our City Clerk decides to let “it’s residents” have any insight into Monday’s city council agenda.  An agenda never posted until late Friday morning with the full agenda package not showing up if we’re lucky just before or after TGIF lunch.  An agenda on the sly for two weeks as last Monday was a stat holiday.

Being a holiday Monday, thought best to kick back, relax and take a second look at what went awry at April’s City Council Meetings while looking back at last Friday’s mayoral re-announcement.

April much like March and every month before displayed the same Team Slate 4 to 3 compliant autocracy favouring our mayor’s developer pals at the expense of more density and traffic gridlock.  When our infamous mayor says “we live in a very compact city” due in part to his inoculated city planners he could not be more dense!  Much like the “District  Trojan Crier” aka NSN maybe we are in need of a name change like: “Sardinia”.

And on Friday WTH… wannabe night-mayor Buchanan announced rather re-announced she wants to continue densifying our city on behalf of her revered Mussatto, building more costly and unnecessary bike lanes/trails for the 1% who bike daily.  Wannabe quips “Without the right leader we will be taking a big leap backwards” – so where do you fit in.

The underlying theme for my city councillor campaign is: “prioritizing” NIMBY concerns ahead of fornicating developer interests. i.e. “taking a giant step forward persevering & respecting neighbourhood interests.”  Wannabe’s continued disregard for neighbourhood development concerns will be her wearing green albatross necklace come October 20th.

I don’t believe Buchanan is the solution leading us out of the city’s log jammed density she “helped create” alongside her fellow ‘4 to 3’ Team Slate!

Without further adieu here is my blog’s top April most viewed… whew!

Tonight’s city council fight card is density jam-packed… and as always Mussatto’s Team Slate Hijackers will be the victors winning by at least a “4 to 3” decision over city NIMBY’s thus maintaining their Undefeated Record!

First up on tonight’s fight card is City Council’s third and final bylaws reading at 2601 Lonsdale by Pezzente Holdings a Mussatto campaign donor and will likely IGNORE most of last Monday night’s public hearing neighbourhood concerns over lane infringement, shrinking setbacks, street closing, taking away a neighbourhood park.  But will reduce the height of the building to OCP guidelines and maybe turn it into an all rental building that certainly our low income families will never be able to afford.  When it is completed late in 2020 who will want to live in this mortgage rate based rental building without ample parking#collusion

Then at 7 pm we have the first Public Hearing for 230-232 East 8th Street (Cascadia Green Dev.) Rezoning Application from March 7th moved by “Councillor Keating and of course seconded by Councillor Buchanan.”… to permit the development of a six 3-storey townhouse units including 4 accessory lock-off units – imagine that.  #maximumOCPpollution

Then after a short recess the 2nd Public Hearing will address the multi-rise development at 151 East Keith in Victoria Park.  Proposing to permit the development of 3 infill residential buildings, consisting of 40 residential rental units, in addition to the “existing tower” and decreasing setbacks from 25 ft. to an UNPRECEDENTED 5 ft.!  And further requesting/reducing parking from 0.75. down to 0.70!…  Where I’m thinking a community name change is in order, something more apropos like:  Manhattan Park-N-Lot  #DensityPollution

‘March Most Viewed’ with Seven months to go before city elections.

My video streaming works held down 3 of the 5 top editorial cartoon blogs for the month of March.  Viewership this time last year is definitively on the up swing – thank you.  #Vote4StacheOctober20

March having WTF: only two council meetings still left me with a lot of Black Necklace fleecing, possible Public Input collusion, to strange bedfellows, proposing more HJ Lands towering density and hoping for real change come election night October 20th – Hallelujah!  #Vote4ChangeOctober20
